  • Lareina’s Maternity Shoot

I had the honor of photographing my brother and sister in-law's maternity shoot.
My brother's such a goofball that it was almost impossible to take a serious shot.
But lemme tell ya, we had a blast!  She was exhausted tho so we had to cut it short.
Thanks, E&L for the wonderful opportunity.

See?  My brother's such a goofball!
This photograph was inspired by Yervant's workshop in Singapore.
Turn a boring wall into something funky!
  • Elizabeth Wahyu

Its been a while since I’ve updated my blog as I’ve been quite busy with workshops (attending), photo shoots (actual and as 2nd), and creating a website.  Timing isn’t great, I know. . . that’s why I’m taking my time brushing up my skills and working on photos to submit for competition and certification/membership.

This is one of my favorite shoots.  Elizabeth is an amazingly talented custom jewelry designer based in Jakarta (but big in Japan).  I go to her for all my funky or boring jewelry ideas.  We had so much fun doing this shoot that we went over by 2 hours without realizing it.

Hope you enjoy the photographs as much as I enjoyed shooting and editing them.

  • Melbourne: the city of pretty things

Went to Melbourne recently for a Jerry Ghionis workshop.
I almost didn’t make it but time, free airline ticket, and free lodgings allowed me the experience of a lifetime.
In addition to the workshop, I got a chance to stroll around the beautiful city.
And what a beautiful city Melbourne is.

Here are some shots I took at the workshop.

These 2 were directed by Jerry.
The very beautiful bride, Vanessa (she’s a chameleon of expressions, sexy one minute, funky the next).  I think she looks like Monika Beluci here.

The very cute couple: Phil and Olivia (so young and so cutely in love). . . ahhh, to be young and in love. :)

These were by me after some tips from Jerry.

    Day 1: Tanya
I was so nervous with Tanya that I didn’t do her much justice.  :(
But I bless her for her patience and good nature

    Day 2: Nick and Sharifa
What a fun and loving couple these two are!
I hope someday to find someone I can be this in love with.
They’re literally just oozing with love and affection.

Day 2.5:  Photographer Kris  (I call him my lil James Dean. . . hehe)
Each of us had to photograph a fellow photographer, and what luck! I got Kris. . .
tho I kept calling him Phil (he thot I was giving him a nickname so didn’t correct me).
After this shot, I started calling him James.  hehe

    Photographers Holly and Chris
The lot of us went bowling and these 2 were cornered into taking pictures (without much resistance, mind you).
    Don’t they just look hot?
    I mean, sizzling hot!  SEXY!

Last Day:  Strolling around Melbourne with some of my new friends
After the workshop ended, there were a few of us reluctant to leave as we’ve bonded a lot in this short time.
So we decided to explore Melbourne together.
    I truly truly enjoyed myself.

This picture was taken with a wide angle lens and pop-up flash. . . unfortunately, the flash was on my face.
    But the men look good.

I learned so much this week about photography, about business, about me.
Its going to be a scary but exciting ride; this transition from food to photography.
Its going to be an amazing ride.
I can’t wait to see what happens next.

  • Joanne’s Sangjit

    Sang means give, Jit
means day. . . For Chinese, Sangjit used to be the day when the dowry
is received. These days, it becomes the day when the groom’s family
presents gifts to the bride and vice versa. My cousin, Joanne was
glowing at her Sangjit. The fun and awesome idea of having everyone
where Kebaya (traditional Peranakan clothing) created an ambience of
    color, fun, and unity.

    Here’s Joanne. . . dressing a Kebaya is not a solo effort.

    The Best Buns EVER!!!!

My Aunty looking so lovely in pale green

    Josie posing for the camera

The bride is giving me her demure look :)

Even Mochi, the terrier, is dressed to the nines!

The Bride’s family looking very sleak and sexy

Some aunties. . . aren’t the colors just wonderful?

I love the colors on Angie and Lorraine’s silver belt

Eva’s the cutest expecting mom. . . had to get a picture

Even the food was pretty. . . and check out that awesome dinnerware!

My nieces are soooo cute with their matching Kebaya

  • I Love My Nieces

My nieces, Sofia and Brianna, are so cute. I could spend every second
trying to capture every moment, every toothless grin, every smirk,
every naptime. . . since I can’t do that without driving my brother and
sil irritated, I’ll settle with my very frequent visits.
    This
visit was a first for both girls. Sofia just got some bunnies and was
showing them to me for the first time (She’s named them Chocolate, Doggy, and Echo). Brianna’s first was her
independently holding her own bottle. They are so precious. I LOVE my
    nieces.

Sofia. . . cradling her bunny, Chocolate

Sofia. . . serious about feeding her bunny, Chocolate. . . btw, Chocolate doesn’t even struggle and does come to her when she walks to the cage

Sofia. . . passed out after playing with her bunnies

Hi.  I am Doggy, the bunny.

Brianna. . . checking out her bottle

Brianna. . . passed out, post Milk Bottle

  • SR Next Level Caribbean

Just a couple of weeks ago, I attended the Scott Robert Next Level Caribbean Workshop.  It was, by far, one of the best things I’ve ever done for myself.

Photography’s always held a sweet spot for me and the past months, I’ve had quite a number of people asking me to photograph them or their events.  So, I thought, let’s do it.  Let’s do this seriously.  So, there I was at this workshop with lots of really good photographers who made me wanna improve myself.

Anyway, for those of you who are thinking about photography as a field (specifically wedding), check out Scott’s workshop.  Who knows?  You might see me there too.  :)
