• How do you like your pancakes?

  Just minutes ago, after a discussion about pancakes, I remembered a silly chart I made about pancakes and its doneness.  Thought I'd share.

  Few people know that the key to the perfect pancake is the ideal cooking doneness of the pancake.  Below is a small but informative chart about the congruency of the pancake and its doneness level.  When preparing that perfect pancake, it will do you good to keep in mind that every individual has his/her own opinion about the perfect doneness.  ENJOY!
  Doneness Level	Consistency of Pancake/Waffle	Ability to soak syrup	Ability to hold syrup
  Rare	Light and Pale on the outside, outer layer has no texture, and undercooked on the inside	Very Good, Fast	Pancake falls apart within seconds
  Medium Rare	Medium Pale on the outside, outer layer has a bit texture, and a bit undercooked on the inside	Very Good , Medium Fast	Pancake falls apart at 1 minute
  Medium	Light Brown on the outside, outer layer has texture, and the insides are cooked but still soft	Good, Slow	Pancake holds syrup for about 2 minutes
  Medium Well	Medium Brown on the outside, outer layer has texture and is a bit toasty, the insides are cooked and has more structure than medium	Not Bad, Slow	Pancake holds syrup for a few minutes
  Well Done	Brown on the outside, outer layer is almost crunchy and is very toasty, the insides are very cooked and has a lot of structure	Decent, Very Slow	Pancake holds syrup very well
  NOTE:  Whatever your desired outcome of the pancake, be it soft and mushy or tough and chewy, remember to enjoy your pancake.  At the end of the day, that should be your main objective.  Pancakes rule!

  How do I like my pancake?
  Super Well-Done, please.

  Why?
  After much experimentation, I learned the following about Super Well-Done Pancakes. . .
  1)  Because it's tougher than the other type of Doneness, it holds the syrup the best
  2)  However, because of its structure, it doesn't soak up much syrup. . . which is great if you're on a diet or watching your sugar level
  3)  The tougher texture allows more butter application AND syrup holding
